Kamala’s Past Will Haunt Her

Kamala Harris will forever regret getting on the 2020 primary debate stage with then-Democratic (now Republican) Senator Tulsi Gabbard. All Gabbard did was lay out indisputable facts about Harris’ record as Attorney General of San Fransisco and California District Attorney. And it was devastating.

Gabbard noted that Harris blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent person on death row until a court forced her to do so. She said Harris kept people in prison beyond their sentence so California could use them as cheap labor for California. She kept the cash bail system in place and that affects poor people in the worst possible way.

Gabbard continued by pointing out that Harris put 1500 people in jail for smoking marijuana and laughed when asked if she’d ever smoked marijuana. Harris withdrew from the primary 13 days after she entered it, claiming she didn’t have the funds to support her campaign. Much more likely it was because of the drubbing Gabbard gave her.

According to a recently posted column, Ann Coulter stated that Harris provided misleading information about Proposition 47 which turned almost every crime into a "misdemeanor.” It made theft of anything worth less than $950 a misdemeanor. That $950 cap does not include the tens of thousands of dollars required to repair shattered car windows, storefronts, or display cases.

Smash-and-grab robberies have left entire inner-city neighborhoods without a pharmacy. The police don't even respond to thefts of less than $950. Retail stores have to keep their entire inventory under lock and key, including ordinary items, like shampoo and toothpaste -- and those are the ones that aren’t closing permanently.

Coulter continued, saying roughly 50% of all videos on the internet are clips of California "teens" dashing out of upscale stores with armloads of stolen goods. Last year, Coulter says, Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Francisco topped the list of the U.S. cities with the most retail theft, according to the National Retail Federation. Sacramento came in at No. 7.

The shoplifting is so pervasive that a Target shoplifter strolled out of the store right past Gov. Gavin Newsom. During a CNN report on the rash of thefts in San Francisco, three shoplifters hit the CVS as they were filming.

And what about other businesses? Tourists are warned not to rent cars because they'll only be broken into. Drug addicts and homeless people clog the sidewalks, squirming in their own needles and fecal matter.

She labeled Prop 47 – are you ready for this? -- "The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act.”

Harris also deceived voters about Prop 57, Coulter says, which allowed the early release of thousands of violent criminals, including those convicted of attempted murder, grand theft, child molestation, drug use, and possession, and drive-by shootings.

Colter names three violent offenders given early release because of Prop 57. One of them is Gregory Gadlin, sentenced to 35 years to life for assaulting his girlfriend with a 7-inch butcher knife, slashing her in the face, back, stomach, and hand, leaving her with limited mobility.

Gadlin had previously been convicted of raping his 11-year-old niece, forcing her to copulate with him and urinating in her mouth orally.

And before that, Gadlin was convicted of rape and sodomy of a pregnant 17-year-old. He'd offered to drive the girl to a hospital after she'd been attacked by two girls but, instead, took her to his home, where he hit her in the face, raped her, sodomized her, and forced her to orally copulate him.

Another violent criminal released under Prop 57 was Luis Steven Flores, convicted of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and battery of another inmate.

And yet another violent criminal, Alfredo "Freddy" Casillas, shot a rival gang member and nearly beat him to death. His "good behavior" in prison consisted of stabbing a fellow inmate and hiding a homemade weapon in his cell.

The parole board conceded that both men had an "extensive history of violence" -- but then cited Prop 57 and released them both.

Harris named Prop 57 – hold on to your seats -- "The Early Parole for Non-Violent Criminals and Juvenile Court Trial Requirements Initiative."

Trump has plenty to throw at Harris, and he should. He’s being counseled to tone down his rhetoric and that’s probably a good thing. He is, after all, running against the first black female presidential candidate, so almost anything he says will be branded as racist, sexist, and misogynistic. But that should not prevent him from pointing out her horrible record of crime. And his ads should show Harris saying she wants to abolish ICE, defund police, decriminalize illegal immigration, and other preposterous policy positions. It’s all out there on tape. As are her word salads, such as her rambling on about “the passage of time.”
